RICE POWDER

Rice powder in perfume points towards a powdery scent idea, often understood through the image of a softly scented cosmetic powder. It is a different emphasis from rising rice steam or a creamy rice drink. Here, powder describes an olfactory texture rather than visible particles, rice flour or a material that must be present in the bottle.

Pierre Guillaume makes this construction explicit in Poudre de Riz: a rice-powder accord meets rose petals, monoi and vanilla within an ambery fragrance. The example shows how a powder effect can have warm, floral and creamy surroundings instead of being only dry or chalky. It does not define a universal formula for the note. Consider the accompanying flowers and sweet notes when choosing between a cosmetic impression and a more food-like rice fragrance.
