Sens & Bois has got a sort of black and white flavour, it is a fragrance full of contrasts made of shade and light, a spicy woody scent which traces its path through bushes and clear woods… Streams of purity and grace escape from the White Violet which conjures up images of a fragile flower draped in a silken white dress, its pretty little silver eyes gazing at the earth’s darkness. The spicy notes coming from the Black Pepper and the Elemi, join this floral bouquet and give a fireplace-like smell to the fragrance, creating a sensual and penetrating scent.
The floral note comes from the White Violet, a rare and vivid flower with scented petals. Black Pepper blends magnificently with Ginger and Elemi, the latter often used for its lemon, light and fresh notes in woody scents. This bewildering warm and spicy twist enhances the beauty and grace of the White Violet and pervade our senses with a smoky, warm and spicy scent.

The Ellena family is about as close to perfume royalty as it gets, with multiple family members in each generation making their marks as distinguished creators and noses. Celine Ellena, the daughter of renowned perfumer Jean-Claude Elena, grew up surrounded by scent in Grasse, the world epicenter of perfumery. Having trained at the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles and worked at Harmann & Reimer, she ultimately left to take over for her father upon his departure from The Different Company, where she has created such favorites as De Bachmakov, Sel de Vetiver, and Pure eVe.
For centuries, luxury has been synonymous with scarcity, quality, precision and inaccessibility. But little by little, it became popular, becoming more and more accessible and standardising the offer. The Different Company was born within this century, in a context where perfume lovers are turning away from the novelties of the big brands, which tend today to create juices intended to please the greatest number. Based on this observation, The Different Company’s first creations appeared, developed by Jean Claude Ellena and Thierry de Baschmakoff. Not imposing costs or codes limits, exploring new territories, demanding excellence in raw materials and sillages, working with talented perfumers of international renown, expressing a signature luxury design: this is the vision of The Luxury Perfumery of The Different Company.
