Nature's Excellence and Italian Craftsmanship: The Story of Xerjoff

Xerjoff is a luxurious Italian perfume brand that takes pride in its unique combination of old-world craftsmanship, the finest raw ingredients and a contemporary artistic sensibility resulting in a collection of some of the most exquisite, unique scents available in the world today. Founded in Turin in 2007 by Sergio Momo and Dominique Salvo, the brand is characterized by a rare mix of Italian style, tradition, and innovation.

The Fusion of Elegance and Artistry

Xerjoff perfumes are created by blending the most luxurious raw materials that complement the most affluent global lifestyles. The highest quality raw materials are specially sourced from around the world to create precious perfumes that embrace the wearer in an olfactory experience like no other, set off by exclusive flacons manufactured in Italy by the best craftsmen.

Xerjoff also carries out bespoke projects for private customers, including Middle Eastern and European Royal families, as well as other strategic partners. For many years, Xerjoff Group has developed numerous projects with the best perfume designers in Grasse, Italy, Spain and Southeast Asia, globally establishing its brands: Xerjoff and, originally founded in 1888, the historical Italian perfume brand Casamorati that was relaunched in 2009 by Sergio Momo.

The Passion for Perfumes

Sergio Momo, founder and creative manager of Xerjoff, has always been passionate about perfumes. Born in Turin in 1964, where he took an Arts diploma with a specialisation in graphics and design. After attending the European Design Institute (IED) in his hometown, he moved to London where he worked for a number of design and advertising agencies. Momo’s interest in the world of perfumes was deeply rooted in his own childhood.

“I was born into a perfume-loving family,” Momo said. “One of my earliest memories is that of my grandmother showing me her exclusive Lanvin and Coty flacons. My parents, too, owned a carefully selected collection of perfumes. My father was a world traveller and used to spend long periods of time in Eastern countries, where he discovered a passion for natural essences like incense and sandalwood.”

In 2005, Momo made a trip to Grasse, the international capital of perfumery, in order to attend classes on perfume creation and on the cultural-historical foundations of modern perfumery since the 19th C. He was also introduced to natural perfumery and distillation techniques. Hence the Xerjoff brand was born, a name that brings together “Joff” (the nickname given to Sergio Momo by his maternal grandmother) and “Sir”, the form of address used by his London colleagues.

“Of all the five senses, smell is the most stimulating from a creative point of view, because perfumes are a means to reach out to places, situations, people, and bring back memories and sensations,” Momo said.

The Legacy of Xerjoff

Xerjoff’s founder has turned his passion for perfumes into a reality thanks to his precious collections, always evocative and appealing to all the senses. The brand consists of two main lines, the Xerjoff line and Casamorati. Xerjoff encompasses several sub-lines, including Shooting Stars, Oud Stars, and Join the Club. Each sub-line boasts its own unique scents, from the intimate and personal to the extravagant and exclusive.

For Xerjoff, luxury and quality are not just buzzwords, it is a way of life. With Italian craftsmanship and the finest raw ingredients combined with the passion of the brand’s founder, Xerjoff has created a legacy that will continue to inspire and delight perfume aficionados for years to come.
