During the last ten years that I have visited the TFWA event in Cannes, I have developed a special bond with Bond No 9, whose perfumes I love because of their look, quality, and the variety of the compositions that never go out of fashion. The brand's distinctive bottle styles represent parts of New York City and through the years the fragrances have been highly connected with the districts and their environment, as well as with the city's fashion trends and developments. It has been a joy meeting in Cannes with the owner of the house, Laurice Rahmé, as well as the wonderful people from her team; talking to them, trying out the novelties of the Bond No 9 collection and seeing what we'll find in stores very soon, just before the upcoming holidays.

Like every year, it's impossible not to notice the shiny booth of New York's Bond No 9, because the colorful bottles and their scents attract your attention and draw you into Bond's glittering world.

TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2019, Cannes

As in years before, TFWA World Exhibition & Conference is one of the major and the most important events in the perfume industry, focusing on new launches and business meetings across all sectors, covering the products we can find in travel retailers all around the world.

In 2019 in Cannes, TFWA was be held from September 29th to October 4th in Palais de Festivals near the sea.

Laurice presented her lavish collections, as well as the fun and luscious lipstick collection focusing on the recently launched Golden Coast, a creation by Michel Almairac based on a beautiful young rose backed by green herbs and watermelon juice. The fragrance has been described as the freshest rose that is touched by greenery; extremely radiant and long lasting.

The new district that is receiving special attention is the Fashion District, and in its honor the fragrance FiDi, in a dark bottle and with a masculine woody-spicy composition, has just been launched. As Bond No 9 states, "the financial district - nicknamed FiDi - is a transformation neighborhood, reflecting the best of old and new New York. An energetic, magnetic, bold scent suited to a confident and modern man." The composition of the FiDi edition is created by perfumer Harry Fremont. 

“For me, the excitement is always downtown,” says Bond No. 9 president and founder Laurice Rahmé. “This neighborhood is just starting. A young population has moved in, and it is full of energy and youth. I like that feeling of something new—in an old place. It’s the contrast New York offers.”

The composition includes notes of Madagascar black pepper, bergamot, mandarin orange, nutmeg, lotus flower, cedar essence, vanilla, and musk. The fragrance will be available as a 100ml Eau de Parfum for $380 at 

The official information announced that the Bond No. 9 FiDi Eau de Parfum will be on the store counters on October 15th, 2019. It will be sold at Bond No. 9 New York Boutiques, Saks Fifth Avenue nationwide, select Bloomingdales stores, Harrods UK, and Selfridges UK.

What awaits us starting November 15, 2019, is the latest Dubai Collection fragrance. Dubai Diamond is the real crown of the gorgeous line that connects New York and Dubai. The fragrance bottle is fantastic, the most beautiful of all previous Dubai releases, with Swarovski crystals on the bottle cap and a silver body with ornaments around which different Fanci-Stones Swarovski crystals are placed.

"With Dubai Diamond, we saved the best for last. Dubai Diamond is the finale to our sultry, smash-success, East-meets-West Dubai Collection. We wanted to create the chicest scent that exemplified the glamour, the style and the way of life in Dubai,” explained Bond founder and president, Laurice Rahmé. 

Dubai Diamond develops icy notes of rose and sharp saffron notes, along with an icy trail of jasmine with all its subtle elegance, giving the impression of the splendor of a jewelry store; expensive pieces of jewelry with the glittering brilliance of diamonds. Dubai Diamond really smells like jewelry and is beautiful in every way.

As the brand states, "Dubai Diamond’s bottle gleams like the destination itself. Bond No. 9’s iconic silhouette bottle and cap are embellished to excess with over 270 hand-applied crystal Swarovski Fanci-Stones with meticulous gem-stone inspired cuts and signature sparkle. The precision-cut shapes are a mix of cabochons, hearts, aqualines and teardrops." The fragrance will be available in 100ml Eau de Parfum bottles for $820.

Also, as the holidays are approaching, Laurice will be launching new Swarovski editions, and this year numerous editions will show large Swarovski crystals covering the distinctive Bond No9 bottles. The festive "menu" will offer a brilliant and vibrant homage to the city of New York under the Swarovski Couture Collection. The collection will include: Swarovski-Couture Amphora, Swarovski-Couture 100ml, Swarovski-Couture Trio, and Swarovski Triple Decker, as well as New York Lips and Luxe Edit 2019 Collections. The Holiday editions always deserve their own dedicated article, so I will write in more details about them in our news the coming days.
